 Church Sunday services July, 2024.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

July 28, 10th Sunday after Pentecost --  9:00 Service. The first reading is 2 Kings 4:42-44. The Psalm is 145.  The second reading is Ephesians 3:14-21. The gospel reading is John 6:1-21.

"Believe It Or Not," is the sermon title for Sunday July 28th. The sermon is based on Ephesians 3:14-21.
   Emphasis Points:
      1. Paul prays that we would find our strength and power in Christ.
2.The Love of Christ surpasses all human knowledge.
      3. Good things happen when we lean on and trust the promises of God.
      4. May Christ work in us and through us to serve others and honor God.

BIBLE STUDY NOTE:  Eric Zenisek, a teacher of theology with Xavier High Schoolwill be our guest on July 28th. We will hold a question and answer session with Eric about the current changes and issues in the Catholic church.
Is the Catholic church facing the same issues we observe in the Lutheran church?

Eric's Personal Bio:  After graduating from Xavier, I earned a bachelor's degree in social studies education from UNI. Then I entered seminary for the Archdiocese of Dubuque. During that time I earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy. After discerning out of seminary I earned a master's degree from Franciscan University. I currently teach theology at Xavier. I'm the club moderator for a student theology discussion group. I also coach track and baseball.

Our Summer outreach project.this year will be Flood Buckets and Gift Cards.

This project is very timely as severe flooding has hit many places this summer.
Our NALA disaster warehouses distributed many flood buckets to assist flood victims in Iowa this past month.
NALC diaster relief has peronally delivered 50 buckets for us to fill with flood cleanup supplies.
It appears that with help from Thrivent money and Pastor Voss' other church, we may exceed this number of flood buckets.
A list of needed items will be printed and included in the weekly bulletin.

   Peace to you,
      Ron
